Sydney has Bondi, LA has Venice, Rio de Janeiro has Copacabana and Ipanema - Beaches in the city, world and a microcosm of their own city. If you lived in Salvador, Brazil‘s oldest cities, for several years and Porto da Barra here, I want the morning bath or beer in the evening. The situation is impressive, at the entrance to the beautiful Bahia de Santos Everything from a small, white colonial sharp on one end and white church sitting on a hill to another.
There is always something going on here: small fishing boats unloading their catch, young men dive in the sea off the old stone walls of the port, eyeing children, older girls, beach volleyball, soccer and tennis. On the beach in the bay water is calm and even (as it directly into the heart of Brazil’s third largest city) incredibly clean and clear, making it ideal for swimming. And in a country with more than 7000 km east of the coast, Porto is one of the few in the West, so you can see some fabulous sunsets.
